Heat Therapy (Thermotherapy)
Heat therapy, also known as thermotherapy, is a treatment involving the use of heat in therapy for pain relief and health. The treatment works by using higher temperatures to produce vasodilation, increasing the supply of oxygen and nutrients, and reducing the presence of carbon dioxide and metabolic waste. Types include hot cloth, hot water bottle, ultrasound, heating pad, whirlpool baths, and others. Treated conditions include arthritis, stiff muscles, and injuries to the deep tissue of the skin.
