After a shoulder subluxation, how did you return to overhead pressing?

I had a subluxation, but have had trouble returning to overhead pressing. My shoulder feels unstable in the overhead position and I feel like I can't connect to it to generate strength. It'll ache after pressing as well, even from doing something as light as 5lb dumbbells. MRIs check out clean. This is years after the original injury as well. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
