Shoulder Labral Tear
A shoulder labral tear is an injury of the shoulder labrum, a piece of cartilage in the shoulder joint. A labral tear can lead to partial or complete shoulder dislocation. A tear can occur from acute trauma or repetitive shoulder motion. Symptoms include a sense of instability in the shoulder, shoulder dislocations, pain with overhead activities, catching, locking, popping, and grinding. Treatment depends on the severity of the tear, specific symptoms, and activity goals.
